After searching and searching for a CD catalog program that would
work well and do what I want, I finally gave up and wrote my own.
Intended for DATA CDs only. Version 1.3 UPDATES (10.17.2005)
- Wasn't planning on releasing an update this soon ... but what can I say, I felt inspired.
- This update includes ability to RESIZE THE WINDOW. Yes
that's right... You can maximize it, or just make it a little
bigger. We're no longer stuck with one size.
- Now you can double click on an item in any catalog contents list to
launch it. You have the choice of opening the folder or launching
the file, and there is a drop down box in case the drive letter (i.e.
the cdrom the disk is in) is different than it was when you cataloged
it. I'll probably lose the drop down and make it search
automatically in the next release.
Version 1.2 UPDATES (10.13.2005):
- Now includes the ability to have a nice background image.
Looks a little better that way in my opinion. An image is include
in the download, you can replace this image (skin.jpg) with your own
(name it the same) and then it'll be your image. If you don't like the background image at all just remove the skin.jpg file.
- I'm not sure that this is a new feature ... but it's kind of like one because I hadn't told anyone about it yet. :-)
If you create a text file called "settings" (with NO extension) you can
put the desired path to the catalog data in that file and that's what
the program will use. (like c:\mycdcat) If the directory
doesn't exist it will be created on first run. You can do this
and move your existing data into the new directory if you want. If you don't understand the above this feature then just ignore it. The program works fine and normally will store the data in appdir\cat.
- Now if you type your search string and hit enter it will start the search. Before it didn't and it was a little annoying.
INFO:
- Requires .NET framework
- Catalog an unlimited number of DATA CDs with ease.
- GREAT search function using regular expressions.
- Regular expressions point and click helper, reset button.
